Portarlington Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland course at Garryhinch in the Irish Midlands. The club dates its foundation to 1908, with historical records showing that the original course was a nine-hole inland layout on the Garryhinch estate. The modern 18-hole course resulted from an expansion in the early 1990s designed by Irish golf architect Eddie Hackett.
That work extended the routing into woodland beside the River Barrow, which now influences the later part of the round. The club states that the men's course plays to par 71 and the women's course to par 74. Published blue-tee scorecard data gives a total of 6,457 yards.

On-site facilities include Practice facilities, Golf shop, Clubhouse, Bar, Restaurant, Locker rooms, Putting green, Chipping area.
Golf at Garryhinch developed through the efforts of local sporting figures in the early twentieth century. Contemporary golfing records show Portarlington Golf Club being instituted in 1908, while other early records use 1909 as the foundation year. The original course consisted of nine holes on old pasture within the Garryhinch estate, with sunk fences and woodland forming natural hazards.
Competition golf followed in 1909 and the club affiliated with the Golfing Union of Ireland in 1911.
For much of its history Portarlington remained a nine-hole club. That changed in the early 1990s when Eddie Hackett designed the expansion to 18 holes. The enlarged routing brought the River Barrow and woodland adjoining the river into the course, materially changing its scale and character while retaining the established Garryhinch setting.
Portarlington is now an 18-hole, member-owned parkland club that also accepts visitor play. The club provides practice facilities, golf shop, bar and restaurant and publishes regular visitor and society rates.
