Origins

Ratho Park Golf Club was formed in 1928 as an offshoot of an earlier club whose course occupied land later absorbed by Edinburgh Zoo. Under captain John Fraser, the club moved to Ratho Park and commissioned James Braid to lay out the new course.

Recognition

The City of Edinburgh's designed-landscape survey specifically recognizes the estate as having been modified for golf by renowned designer James Braid.

Today
