Rio Real Golf is an 18-hole, par-72 course in Marbella designed by Spanish architect Javier Arana and opened in 1965. The course measures more than 6,000 metres and follows the Río Real river through the property to the Mediterranean coast. The river is incorporated into the routing rather than functioning only as a boundary, while the course also passes through established stands of pine, palm, casuarina, olive and cypress.
Rio Real operates as a visitor-accessible golf course associated with its hotel, and the official website directs golf bookings through a dedicated online reservation system. Golf facilities include a pro shop, locker rooms, club and trolley rental, buggy rental and a golf academy. The academy provides instruction and swing-analysis facilities.

Rio Real belongs to an earlier generation of Costa del Sol golf development than many of Marbella's modern resort courses. Javier Arana designed the layout, which was inaugurated in 1965 beside the river from which the course takes its name.
Arana routed the course alongside the Río Real, using the river as an integral feature while moving the holes from inland terrain toward the Mediterranean. The routing combines lower river-side ground with more elevated holes and established Mediterranean vegetation.
The golf course later became integrated with Rio Real Golf & Hotel and added a modern academy and supporting golf services, while the underlying course continues to be identified with Arana's original 1965 work.
The club states that the Royal Spanish Golf Federation recognises Rio Real among notable Spanish courses for its layout, setting and standing.
Rio Real remains an 18-hole visitor-accessible golf course and hotel property in Marbella. Tee times are sold through the club's online booking system and pricing is dynamic.
