Royal Porthcawl Golf Club is a historic seaside links at Rest Bay near Porthcawl in South Wales. The club dates to 1891 and has developed into one of Wales's principal championship venues. Unlike links with a large dune barrier between golf and sea, several stretches at Porthcawl are directly exposed to the Bristol Channel, making wind a persistent strategic factor.
The club has staged a long list of major amateur and senior championships, including the Amateur Championship, the 1964 Curtis Cup, the 1995 Walker Cup and multiple editions of The Senior Open. In 2025 it hosted the AIG Women's Open, won by Miyu Yamashita, adding a current women's major championship to the venue's history. The club remains private in character but accepts visitor bookings during designated availability.
The course is an 18-hole links golf course. The course originally opened in 1891. It is semi-private, welcoming both members and visitors. On-site facilities include Pro Shop, Practice Area, Clubhouse, Dining.

Its championship record includes the Amateur Championship in multiple eras, the 1964 Curtis Cup, the 1995 Walker Cup, Senior Opens in 2014, 2017 and 2023, and the 2025 AIG Women's Open.
Royal Porthcawl remains an internationally significant Welsh links and continues to combine member golf with visitor play and major championship hosting.
