The Royal Selangor Golf Club in Kuala Lumpur was established in 1893 and is one of the foundational golf institutions in Malaysia. The club is a multi-course facility rather than a single 18-hole layout, with the Old Course, New Course and shorter Suleiman Course forming the golfing complex. Its central Kuala Lumpur grounds have been closely associated with the development of competitive golf in Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
The club hosted the inaugural Putra Cup on July 19, 1961, with teams from Burma, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and South Vietnam. Because the Old and New courses have independent scorecards, yardages and ratings, no single top-level course length or par has been assigned to this database record.
The course originally opened in 1893. It is a private members-only club. On-site facilities include Bar, Café, Terrace, Old Course, New Course, Suleiman Course, Clubhouse, Full Membership, and 3 more.
