Scarlett Woods Golf Club (City of Toronto)

Scarlett Woods is an 18-hole municipal executive golf course operated by the City of Toronto. The City lists the course at par 61 and 3,749 yards, making it substantially shorter than a regulation-length layout and suitable for players seeking a quicker round as well as beginners developing their game. Metro Toronto Council approved the South Humber regional park development programme in 1972, and Scarlett Woods opened on 1 July 1974 at a reported development cost of C$549,260.

The course and adjacent Scarlett Mills Park take their names from John Scarlett, an English settler who played an important role in the early nineteenth-century development of the Humber Valley area. The City's current course description identifies the 17th as a notable hole because of a water hazard running alongside the fairway. Scarlett Woods remains fully public.
