St Davids City Golf Club is a nine-hole links at Whitesands Bay in Pembrokeshire. The physical course has nine holes but uses 18 separate tees and some double greens to create an 18-hole round. The club traces its beginnings to 1903, with records showing it securely operating by 1904.
Historical accounts state that the early course was laid out by Dr W. W. Williams and Colonel T.
The course is a 9-hole links golf course. Designed by W. W. Williams and T. Bleddyn Rees, the course originally opened in 1903. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Clubhouse, Changing Rooms.
The club's surviving history reaches back to 1903-04. A later newspaper account recorded that the course had been laid out by Dr W. W.
Williams and Colonel T. Bleddyn Rees. Early green fees were collected through a chemist's shop in St Davids.
The course endured major disruption around the Second World War, including excavation of land for sand used in building St Davids Airfield. The ground was later reinstated. Additional land was leased in later decades, new holes were developed and by the 1980s the club had completed 18 tees around its nine-hole footprint.
The club's longevity, links character and unusual 18-tee configuration have become defining features. In July 2026 the club highlighted inclusion in Today's Golfer's Top 100 GB&I courses under £40 rating.
St Davids remains a members' club that welcomes visitors. The course consists of nine physical holes with 18 separate tees and drains sufficiently well that the club promotes year-round play without winter tees.
