St Francis Bay Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-71 course in the centre of St Francis Bay. The club began in 1975 as a private nine-hole course funded by local developer Leighton Hulett and designed by Robert Grimsdell. A club committee was established in December 1976.
The course evolved from its original sandy condition to established fairways and Poa annua greens. A decision in 1997 led to construction of a second nine, producing the current 18-hole course in December 1999. The club is separate from the nearby St Francis Links and should not be confused with it.

As the village developed and adopted the St Francis Bay name, the club changed its name accordingly. The original sandy course was progressively established with grassed fairways and Poa annua greens. In 1997 the club decided to add nine more holes, and the expanded 18-hole course opened in December 1999.
St Francis Bay Golf Club remains the older town course and is distinct from St Francis Links, the later Jack Nicklaus-designed course nearby.
