Origins

Fresno golfers George C. C. Teague, Frank M.

W. Goodfellow were among the founders who created a primitive nine-hole course in 1911. The early course used sand-and-oil greens and was roughly 2,500 yards.

Development

William P. Bell was hired to design a second nine and install bentgrass greens across all 18 holes. That expansion officially opened on October 3, 1925.

Bell returned during the 1940s and worked with Bob Baldock on further alterations. Later decades brought additional tee and green reconstruction.

Today

Sunnyside remains a private Fresno country club centred on its historic 18-hole golf course and member social and recreation facilities.
