Svartinge's course was inaugurated in 2001. Peter Nordwall designed the layout on land combining wooded areas, agricultural ground and historic cultural landscape.
Nordwall describes golf as moving the ball between different landscape rooms, and Svartinge was routed to make those changes part of the course. The first nine moves between forest groves and agricultural islands, while the second nine opens toward Bisslinge farm and the wetlands around Edssjön.
Svartinge continues to operate as a private golf club. Guests are welcomed in members' company rather than through unrestricted visitor booking.
