Tara Golf Club

Tara Golf Club is an 18-hole championship golf course at Savannah Lakes Village in McCormick, South Carolina, set among the rolling hills, forests and lakefront scenery of the state’s Freshwater Coast region. Designed by Tom Clark and opened in 1993, the par-72 course winds through the established Savannah Lakes community, alongside Lake Thurmond and through terrain bordering Sumter National Forest. Mature oaks and pines frame the holes, while the property’s natural elevation changes give the layout considerable variety and provide attractive views throughout the round.

Stretching to 7,002 yards from the back tees, Tara provides a substantial challenge for accomplished golfers while multiple teeing options make the course accessible to a broad range of abilities. Bermuda fairways and TifEagle Bermuda greens suit the South Carolina climate, while the rolling landscape and wooded setting place an emphasis on thoughtful course management and accurate shot-making. Tara is complemented by extensive practice amenities, including a driving range, putting green, pitching area and practice bunker, with professional instruction available through Savannah Lakes Village’s PGA staff.
