Terrace Downs is an 18-hole, par-72 resort course at Windwhistle in Canterbury, overlooking the Rakaia Gorge and Southern Alps. The course officially opened in 2001. Published scorecard data for the Black tees gives 6,406 yards, a 75.4 rating and slope of 133.
The routing combines open high-country terrain with changes in elevation and views across the surrounding river and mountain landscape. Terrace Downs operates as both a golf course and accommodation resort, with visitor, local, member-guest and in-house guest rates. For the 2026-27 summer period beginning 28 September 2026, published guide rates list 18-hole visitor play at NZ$99 Tuesday-Friday and NZ$135 on weekends, with separate nine-hole and accommodation-guest prices.

Its setting above the Rakaia Gorge and proximity to the Southern Alps became central to its golf-tourism profile. The resort was named New Zealand's Best Golf Hotel at the 2015 World Golf Awards.
Terrace Downs remains an 18-hole resort course with public green fees and separate pricing for accommodation guests, local players and member guests.
