Terravista Golf Course is an 18-hole, par-72 course at Trancoso on Bahia's Discovery Coast. American architect Dan Blankenship of Gold Tee Golf International designed the course across approximately 70 hectares, and it opened to the public on 27 May 2004. The current official website lists a playing length of 6,580 yards.
The two nines occupy distinctly different environments: holes 1 through 9 run through preserved Atlantic rainforest, while much of the inward nine reaches the coastal cliffs, which rise roughly 40 metres above the Atlantic. The course's development also produced archaeological findings: excavations requested by Brazil's heritage authority found evidence of Aratu and Tupiguarani occupation around what became holes 14 and 15. A driving range operates daily and the club provides direct tee-time booking.
The course is an 18-hole resort golf course. It plays to par 72, 6,017m (6,580 yards). Designed by Dan Blankenship, the course originally opened in 2004. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving range, Clubhouse, Golf carts, Practice facilities.
The Terravista golf project was developed as part of the larger Trancoso tourism and residential property. Work began in the early 2000s, with Dan Blankenship commissioned to design an 18-hole course across the rainforest and cliff-top property.
Blankenship deliberately created two contrasting halves. The opening nine works through preserved Atlantic rainforest, while the second nine moves onto the elevated coastal ground and uses the cliffs and ocean exposure as defining site characteristics.
Construction culminated in the course opening to the public on 27 May 2004. Archaeological investigations conducted during development documented pre-colonial material around the area occupied by holes 14 and 15.
The Brazilian Golf Confederation highlighted Terravista soon after opening as an important venue for international golf tourism.
Terravista continues to operate as an 18-hole public-access destination course within the Trancoso development.
