The Manor of Groves Golf Course is an 18-hole, par-71 parkland course at the Manor of Groves estate near Sawbridgeworth in Hertfordshire. Work on the golf course began in 1988-89 after the Sharer family acquired the estate and submitted planning applications first for nine holes and then for a further nine. The course formally opened on 1 April 1991 and the golf club was formed the following year.
The White tees currently measure 6,126 yards with a course rating of 70.4 and slope of 129; Yellow measures 5,797 yards and Red 5,139 yards. The course forms part of a hotel and leisure property rather than a stand-alone members-only golf club, and pay-and-play access has been part of its history from the opening period. Golf-specific enquiries and tee times are handled through the golf operation/pro shop, while the database's existing Guestline URL is for hotel accommodation and is not a golf booking link.

The Manor of Groves estate has a documented history extending back to medieval landholding, but golf arrived much later. The Sharer family acquired the property in 1988 and began converting the manor into a hotel while seeking permission for a golf course. Planning records show an initial nine-hole proposal followed by an application for another nine holes.
Construction began in 1988-89 and the course formally opened on 1 April 1991. The golf club was formed in 1992. The original business later failed financially and the property passed through receivership before subsequent ownership stabilised and expanded the hotel and leisure operation.
Some fairways have been realigned over time, particularly around the 17th, and the original golf clubhouse arrangements were later changed as the hotel and event business developed.
The course remains an 18-hole par-71 layout integrated with the Manor of Groves hotel and leisure complex.
