Transilvania Golf Club at Sânpaul in Cluj County currently operates the nine-hole TGC Front Nine as its main golf course. The club's official site separately lists a six-hole Sandra's Academy Course, a driving range, short-game practice area, putting green, clubhouse and golf shop; these should not be confused with the Front Nine itself. Third-party scorecard data records the main nine at par 36 and 2,564 yards from the men's tees, with a shorter 2,270-yard women's configuration.
The club's development began after a 90-hectare land-concession agreement with Sânpaul commune was signed on 7 January 2011. The driving range and short-game area became operational that May, the six-hole academy course followed in 2012, and construction of the Front Nine progressed during 2012. The official site currently describes a further nine holes as under construction/planned rather than representing Transilvania Golf Club as an established 18-hole course.
The course is a 9-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 36, 2,345m (2,564 yards). It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving range, Short game practice area, Putting green, Practice bunker, Clubhouse, Golf shop, Guesthouse, Golf academy.
The project took a major step on 7 January 2011 when Transilvania Golf Club and Sânpaul commune signed a concession agreement covering 90 hectares for development of a golf course. Work began that March, initially concentrating on the clubhouse, driving range, putting and chipping areas, practice bunker and academy course.
The driving range and short-game facilities were operating by May 2011. Sandra's six-hole Academy Course and the clubhouse were completed in 2012, while work on the main TGC Front Nine accelerated later that year. The club reported three playable Front Nine holes by September 2012 and completion of the Front Nine construction phase during October-November.
A second nine has remained a future development; the current official site still identifies nine holes as under construction.
The club became a member of the Romanian Golf Federation in May 2012. After a visit from The R&A in 2012, the organization provided course-maintenance equipment to the project in 2013.
Transilvania Golf Club operates the TGC Front Nine, driving range, short-game area, clubhouse, golf shop and the separate six-hole academy course. The nonprofit club states that non-members are welcome provided they follow club and golf rules.
