Tróia Golf Championship Course occupies the Tróia Peninsula south of Setúbal, between the Atlantic coast and Sado Estuary. Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed the 18-hole course, which was inaugurated in 1980.
The championship layout is par 72 and measures 6,317 metres at its professional length. The routing uses sandy coastal ground and dunes and is generally classified as links-style golf. Tróia has staged significant competition, including the 1983 Portuguese Open won by Sam Torrance, the 2002 European Amateur Championship and other Portuguese and European amateur events.
