White River Country Club is an 18-hole parkland golf course in White River, Mpumalanga, with a history extending to 1924. The club's present layout developed in stages rather than being a single original design. A new nine-hole course at the current site was designed through Gary Player Enterprises and officially opened in 1973; the club later commissioned Golf Data for a second nine, which was completed with input from Reg Taylor and officially opened in 1993.
The present course is par 71 and runs through mature Lowveld vegetation with the White River and several other water hazards influencing play. The club's official hole-by-hole guide publishes three complete sets of distances: White, Blue and Red. The White course totals approximately 6,256 metres from the published individual holes.

White River's golf story began with meetings in 1923 to determine whether a viable course could be created for the local community. The less expensive of two proposed sites was selected and White River Golf Club was formed. Its first course opened for play in March 1924 with sand greens and extremely modest maintenance resources.
The modern course developed through several distinct phases. When the club established its current property, Gary Player Enterprises was engaged to design a new nine. The course uses the Lowveld's mature vegetation, rolling ground and the White River itself as strategic elements, with river crossings becoming defining features of several holes.
The new nine at the present site officially opened in April 1973 with an exhibition involving Gary Player. During the late 1980s the club decided to expand to 18 holes. Golf Data was commissioned to design the additional nine, with Reg Taylor providing advice.
The second nine was playable by December 1992 and officially opened in March 1993.
White River has developed from a small local golf club into an established Lowveld country club and has hosted Sunshine Tour competition, including the Gary & Vivienne Player Challenge.
The club celebrated its golf centenary in 2024. Golf remains central to a broader country-club operation that now also includes padel, tennis, squash, cricket, swimming and social facilities.
