Zaanse Golf Club plays at De Zaanse in Wijdewormer, Noord-Holland, on a low-lying polder site shaped by centuries of water management. The club was formed in 1987 and architect Gerard Jol designed the original course. The first nine holes officially opened on 30 May 1990.
In 2008 the facility expanded to the present 18 holes, plus four par-3 practice holes. The main course measures 5,505 metres and plays to par 71. Water is fundamental to both the site's history and its golf architecture: the course surrounds a lake created after an 1825 dike breach, and the club states that water comes into play on every hole.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 71, 5,505m (6,020 yards). Designed by Gerard Jol, the course originally opened in 1990. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Putting Green, Practice Course, Restaurant.
The site had previously operated as the Wormerbad recreation area around a lake created by an 1825 dike breach. After the swimming facility closed in 1986, local sportsmen Dik Out, Jan de Vries and Frans van der Ploeg drove plans to turn the land into a golf course. Zaanse Golf Club was founded in December 1987 and Gerard Jol was appointed to design the course.
The first nine-hole course opened on 30 May 1990. Members approved expansion to 18 holes in 2008, together with four par-3 practice holes. In 2021 Ironwoods became the course operator and adopted the De Zaanse name for the golf facility.
The main course has 18 holes, par 71 and a length of 5,505 metres. Zaanse Golf Club functions as the members' association while De Zaanse operates the golf course.
