Golf Course Architect
Albert “Al” Howard (8 May 1913 – 10 January 2014) was an Australian professional golfer who later became a golf course architect. Born in Sydney, he served as a club golf professional at numerous venues and pursued course design.
Among his known works is The Springs Golf Club at Peats Ridge in New South Wales, where he laid out the original 11 holes. He also contributed to the design of several other Australian courses, including Woollahra, Cromer, Corowa, Forbes, Rockhampton, and Rosnay.
His design approach often integrated natural terrain and local bushland characteristics, notably at The Springs.
