Golf Course Architect
Annika Sörenstam (born October 9, 1970) is a Swedish former professional golfer widely regarded as one of the greatest female players ever. Since retiring from competition in 2008, she has also forged a modest career in golf course architecture, undertaking several signature design and renovation projects across multiple continents.
Her first notable design was the Annika Course at Mission Hills Golf Club in Shenzhen, China in 2003, followed by projects in South Africa, Malaysia, South Korea, and North America—including a redesign of Patriots Point Links in South Carolina and the Red Mountain Resort in British Columbia. S.
debut as a designer came with the front nine (“Queen’s Nine”) of Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo, Minnesota, co‑designed with Arnold Palmer’s firm and opening around 2018.
