Golf Course Architect
Charles Kenneth “Ken” Cotton (b. October 14, 1887 – d.
October 2, 1974) was an English golf course architect who began his career outside design—as a Cambridge‑educated schoolmaster and later club secretary at courses including Parkstone, Stoke Poges, Oxhey and Hendon—before embracing course architecture after World War II, particularly focusing on restoration and redevelopment of war‑aged or neglected layouts. ), Pennink, Lawrie & Partners (later including Donald Steel), contributing to notable works in Britain and Europe.
Although not credited with the original design of Royal Lytham & St Annes, he is associated with remodeling and improvements there in mid‑20th century.
