Christoph Städler

Christoph Städler (born February 2, 1951, in Osnabrück) is a German former amateur golf champion who transitioned into a prolific golf course architect. After completing his degree in business administration, he worked at Deutsche Bank before founding his own golf‑design practice in 1987.

Since then, he has overseen the creation of over 50 new courses and more than 130 renovations, including Golfanlage Gut Wulfsmühle (opened 2002), and held leadership roles in the European Institute of Golf Course Architects, serving as president from 2019 to 2021. Städler is also recognized as a “Sustainable Design Leader” for his emphasis on ecological integration and affordability in course design.
