MARITIM Golfpark Ostsee is a 33-hole golf facility in Warnsdorf, Schleswig-Holstein, between Timmendorfer Strand and Travemünde. The main course consists of three 9-hole loops — Schloss, Warnsdorf and See — that can be combined for 9-, 18- or 27-hole play. A separate six-hole Maritim-Kurs is a public par-3 short course that can be played without club membership or a German Platzreife.
The 27-hole course was designed under Christoph Städler and officially opened on 31 May 2003; Städler & Reinmuth Golfdesign also credits Achim Reinmuth as a project leader. The main holes were extensively reworked in 2020. Current measurements show Schloss at par 35, Warnsdorf at par 36 and See at par 33, with the championship Schloss-Warnsdorf combination now rated par 71.
The course is a 33-hole golf course. Designed by Christoph Städler and Achim Reinmuth, the course originally opened in 2003. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Practice Green, Indoor Golf Hall, Pro Shop, Golf School, Golf Lessons, Club Hire, Golf Cart Rental, and 6 more.
The golf park was developed on more than 100 hectares at Warnsdorf on the eastern side of Hemmelsdorfer See, between the Baltic resorts of Timmendorfer Strand and Travemünde. The project was created to complement Maritim's three nearby Baltic coast hotels. The club's historical account names the Maritim Hotel Group together with Euro Golf Projekt as the developer and builder.
The facility was officially inaugurated on 31 May 2003 in front of a group of television and sporting personalities. Actress and golfer Elke Sommer hit a ceremonial golden ball after the president's opening drive to mark the course's formal opening.
Christoph Städler was responsible for the original course design, with Städler & Reinmuth Golfdesign also listing Achim Reinmuth as a project leader. Their practice describes the routing as being fitted into Schleswig-Holstein's terminal-moraine landscape. The concept used three independent 9-hole loops that could be freely combined rather than a fixed front and back nine.
Schloss and Warnsdorf were conceived as the longer, more demanding loops, while See was shorter and more approachable. The club's historical description says bunkers and ponds were generally positioned beyond the normal reach of beginners from the tee while still creating strategic demands for stronger golfers. The current course continues to use numerous water features, hedgerows and strategically positioned bunkers, with Warnsdorf the longest of the three loops.
The original 27-hole facility opened in 2003. The club now states that all 27 main holes were extensively redesigned in 2020, although its public material does not clearly identify an individual architect responsible for that later work. The current facility also incorporates the public six-hole Maritim-Kurs, a par-3 short course measuring 551 metres.
Unlike the main 27 holes, it requires neither a club membership nor a Platzreife. Current rating data show that the Schloss-Warnsdorf championship combination has evolved from the par-72 configuration described at opening to a current par of 71.
MARITIM Golfpark Ostsee operates as a 33-hole facility comprising the 27-hole Schloss, Warnsdorf and See complex plus the six-hole Maritim-Kurs. Members of German or foreign golf clubs with a handicap index of 54 or better may play the main loops as green-fee guests, while the short course is open to the general public. Online tee-time reservations for the three main 9-hole courses are handled through PC CADDIE.
The site also contains a golf school, pro shop, driving range and practice greens, an indoor golf hall, Restaurant TeeTime and accommodation in golf apartments.
