Golf Course Architect
David Pfaff (died June 2013) began his career in the mid‑1960s as a design draftsman for Pete Dye, contributing to over 60 Dye courses before becoming Landmark Land Company’s in‑house architect from 1976 to 1984. He later established his own firm in Carmel, California, designing nine standalone courses, including The Springs at Borrego and his final celebrated work, Royal Isabela in Puerto Rico.
Pfaff was known for his ability to craft courses with minimal land manipulation that deliver dramatic vistas and playability.
