Golf Course Architect
, based in River Falls, Wisconsin. He began cutting his teeth in the profession working alongside his father, David Gill, on projects across the Midwest in the mid-1970s.
Since founding his firm in 1985, he's overseen more than 250 projects in over 26 states, spanning new course designs, full-scale renovations, and additions like driving ranges and practice facilities. Gill’s philosophy emphasizes creating "a golfer’s golf course"—fun, fair, and enjoyable for both serious players and high-handicappers—while staying on budget and on schedule.
His notable works include award-winning courses like Legends Golf Club and The Meadows at Mystic Lake, and he has restored and remodeled facilities such as Lakeview National in Two Harbors, Minnesota. He holds a BS in Landscape Architecture from the University of Wisconsin–Madison (1975) and a Master of Landscape Architecture from Texas A&M University (1977), and is a Fellow of the American Society of Golf Course Architects.
