J. Russell "Russ" Wylie founded and developed Lindenwood Golf Club.
Local reporting from the club's 50th anniversary records that he opened the first nine holes in 1965 and the second nine in 1967. Golf-course references also credit him with the original Lindenwood layouts and with the later Blue nine alongside his son David.
