Golf Course Architect
Mark McCumber (born September 7, 1951, Jacksonville, Florida) is a former PGA Tour winner who transitioned into a prolific golf course architect. After a successful playing career that included 10 PGA Tour wins—including the 1988 Players Championship and 1994 Tour Championship—and membership on the 1989 Ryder Cup and World Cup teams, he founded and leads Mark McCumber & Associates, the design division of McCumber Golf, operating alongside his brothers.

Among these is Timberton Golf Club in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, a celebrated 18‑hole championship layout that opened in 1991 and has hosted numerous USGA and PGA qualifying events.
