V. is an 18-hole club in Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia, founded in 1927. Dr.
Claus Springsfeld was the principal force behind creating the club after encountering golf while studying at Oxford. Harry S. Colt designed the original nine-hole course, which was inaugurated in September 1928 while some greens were still provisional.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. Designed by Harry Colt, the course originally opened in 1928. It is semi-private, welcoming both members and visitors. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Putting Green, Short Game Area, Chipping Green, Practice Bunkers, Pro Shop, Golf Lessons, Restaurant.
Dr. Claus Springsfeld returned from studying at Oxford convinced that Aachen should have a golf club. Together with Max Bicheroux, Hans van Gülpen, Georg Nellesen and other supporters, he helped establish Aachener Golf-Club in 1927.
Harry S. Colt was commissioned to design the first course, and an inauguration competition was held in September 1928.
After wartime disruption and a difficult post-war recovery, membership grew steadily. By the mid-1970s the club committed to expanding beyond its original nine holes. F.
Pennink was selected to develop the 18-hole extension while retaining the character of Colt's work. More recently the club has embarked on another programme of modernisation extending toward 2028.
The club remains an 18-hole member club that also accepts green-fee visitors, with extensive modern practice facilities and clubhouse dining.
