Alpensia Country Club is a 27-hole membership golf facility at Alpensia Resort in Pyeongchang. It is distinct from the resort's separate public 18-hole Alpensia 700 Golf Club. Robert Trent Jones Jr.
designed the Country Club across broad basin terrain in the Daegwallyeong area, with the resort describing approximately 1.88 million square metres of comparatively open, level ground. The 27 holes are divided into three nine-hole sections named Forest, Lake and Meadow. Jones' routing was intended to preserve the natural topography while giving each nine a different character: woodland defines Forest, water is central to Lake, and Meadow uses more open grassland imagery.
The course is a 27-hole mountain golf course. The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. It is a private members-only club. On-site facilities include Clubhouse, Restaurant, Start house, Rest house, Golf shop, Locker rooms, Golf carts.
Jones worked with the existing topography of the broad Daegwallyeong basin rather than treating the site as a narrow conventional mountain course. The three nines were given separate landscape identities: Forest, Lake and Meadow.
Alpensia developed two different golf operations. The Country Club is the 27-hole Robert Trent Jones Jr. membership facility, while Alpensia 700 is a separate 18-hole public replica-course concept.
Keeping those facilities separate is important when assigning designers, fees and course data.
Alpensia Country Club continues to operate as a 27-hole membership course with Forest, Lake and Meadow nines.
