Golf Course Architect
Robert Trent Jones Jr. (born July 24, 1939, in Montclair, New Jersey) is a prominent American golf course architect who broke away from his father's firm in the early 1970s to establish Robert Trent Jones II.
Educated at Yale and briefly at Stanford Law, he apprenticed under his father before founding his own firm in Palo Alto around 1972–1973. Over a career spanning more than five decades, Jones Jr.
has designed or renovated over 250 golf courses worldwide, including notable projects such as Bro Hof Slott in Sweden, Club de Golf Alcanada in Spain, and Alcanada Golf, blending environmental sensitivity with strategic play. He is recognized for advocating sustainable design and creating courses that harmonize with their natural landscapes.
