Antognolla Golf is an 18-hole Robert Trent Jones Jr. course in Umbria, built around the landscape surrounding the medieval Antognolla castle. The course opened for play in 1997 and measures 6,112 metres, or 6,884 yards.
Jones's routing uses substantial elevation changes, cliffs, water and large greens to create strategic risk-and-reward choices rather than relying on length alone. The property underwent extensive investment from 2018, including bunker reconstruction using capillary-concrete technology, redesigned drainage and a more sustainable irrigation system. Antognolla has hosted the PGA Italian Championship, International Alps Tour competition and its own International Pro-Am.
The course is an 18-hole resort golf course. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr, the course originally opened in 1997. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Golf Academy, Pro Shop, Driving Range, Restaurant, Accommodation.
The golf course was conceived within the historic Antognolla estate, using land surrounding the estate's medieval castle. Robert Trent Jones Jr. created the layout and it opened for play in 1997.
Jones applied his strategic-design approach to a site with pronounced elevation changes, cliffs and water. The routing incorporates broad and undulating greens and asks players to choose between safer lines and more demanding approaches rather than presenting a uniform test from tee to green.
By 2017 the course required substantial investment. Under the subsequent improvement programme, work beginning in 2018 included rebuilding bunkers using capillary concrete, redesigning drainage and installing a more sustainable irrigation system.
Antognolla has received the World Golf Awards title Italy's Best Golf Course multiple times and has staged national and international professional events.
The course remains an 18-hole, year-round golf operation within the developing Antognolla Resort and Residences estate.
