Armadale Public Golf Club is the former name of the nine-hole public golf facility now operated as The Springs Club in Forrestdale, Western Australia. Golf Oracle began operating the site in late 2015 and, with funding from the City of Armadale, Golf Oracle and the Western Australian Department of Sport and Recreation, undertook a roughly $1 million redevelopment beginning in July 2016. The existing course was substantially rebuilt with new greens, tees, tree-lined fairways, bunkers and water features.
Jeff Lane Turf Consultancy worked with Golf Oracle on the new design. The course is surrounded by Class-A reserve bushland and remains open to public play, with nine- and eighteen-hole green-fee options. Facilities include a pro shop, practice facilities, golf instruction, motorised-cart hire, food and beverage service and full memberships.
The course is a 9-hole golf course. The course was designed by Jeff Lane Turf Consultancy. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Practice Facility, Golf Lessons, Pro Shop, Golf Cart Rental, Food and Beverage, Bar, Full Membership.
The golf site on Forrest Road had served local players for more than 30 years before Golf Oracle took over operations in late 2015. By then the operator considered the existing layout to be well past its prime and began planning a comprehensive modernisation rather than a minor refurbishment.
The 2016 design brief called for an accessible public course that retained and highlighted the natural character of the surrounding reserve bushland. Jeff Lane Turf Consultancy worked with Golf Oracle on a redevelopment that introduced new greens and tees, reshaped fairways and added bunkers and water features.
The approximately $1 million project began in July 2016 and was funded by the City of Armadale, Golf Oracle and a Western Australian Department of Sport and Recreation grant. The operator describes the result as effectively a new golf course built over the old Armadale layout.
The property trades as The Springs Club and remains a nine-hole public facility with online tee-time booking, memberships, golf instruction, practice facilities, a pro shop and food and beverage service.
