Ashbourne Golf Club is an 18-hole championship parkland course at Archerstown near Ashbourne in County Meath. The club was established in 1991 after local residents revived plans for a community golf club. Work followed quickly and the course first opened for play on Saturday 28 May 1994, with an official opening ceremony performed by Des Smyth shortly afterwards.
The club credits the design to Declan Branigan Design and Ryder Cup player and vice-captain Des Smyth. In 2019, its 25th anniversary year, Ashbourne completed a redesign of the front nine. The clubhouse was developed around an existing farmhouse.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. Designed by Des Smyth and Declan Branigan Design, the course originally opened in 1994. It is semi-private, welcoming both members and visitors. On-site facilities include Bistro, Bar, Terrace, Function Room, Clubhouse, Restaurant, Full Membership, Social Membership, and 1 more.
A group mainly made up of Ashbourne residents revived the idea of establishing a local members' golf club in 1991. A founding committee was formed and public meetings generated enough support to proceed with the project.
The course opened for play on 28 May 1994. In 2019, marking the club's 25th year of golf, the front nine was redesigned to alter and strengthen the challenge.
