The Old Links is one of Ballyliffin Golf Club's two full-length championship links courses, alongside the Glashedy Links; the club also operates the nine-hole par-three Pollan Links. The Old Links first opened in 1947 and was subsequently refined by Eddie Hackett and, later, Nick Faldo. Its routing follows naturally rolling coastal linksland beside Pollan Strand.
Ballyliffin's current hole guide presents a full 18-hole championship layout and the club continues to market the Old Links separately from Glashedy. For 2026 the standard visitor green fee is €300 for 18 holes. A same-day 36-hole ticket covering Ballyliffin's championship courses is €550, although that combined product should not be interpreted as an Old Links-only fee.
The course is an 18-hole links golf course. Designed by Eddie Hackett, the course originally opened in 1947. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Full Membership, Junior Membership, Intermediate Membership, Life Membership, Lodge, Clubhouse, Pro shop, Caddies, and 3 more.
The Old Links first opened in 1947 and became the foundation of golf at Ballyliffin.
The course was subsequently refined by Irish architect Eddie Hackett and later by Nick Faldo. Ballyliffin eventually added the separate Glashedy Links and, in 2020, the nine-hole Pollan Links, creating a three-course complex.
The Old Links remains a separately bookable 18-hole championship course with its own visitor rate and hole-by-hole guide.
