About Bernardus Golf

Bernardus Golf is an 18-hole, par-72 heathland course at Deutersestraat 39D in Cromvoirt, North Brabant. The course opened in 2018 and was designed by American architect Kyle Phillips. Its championship configuration reaches approximately 6,808 metres.

Phillips transformed a comparatively flat site using dunes, heath, gorse, bunkering and water features to create the course's strategic character. Bernardus operates an unusual Day Membership model rather than limiting visitor access to conventional green fees: the pass provides unlimited golf for the day as well as use of the driving range, practice areas and non-golf facilities. The course hosted the KLM Open on the DP World Tour in 2021, 2022 and 2023 and is the venue for the 2026 Solheim Cup and Junior Solheim Cup.

The course is an 18-hole heathland golf course. It plays to par 72, 6,808m (7,445 yards). Designed by Kyle Phillips, the course originally opened in 2018. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Short Game Area, Putting Greens, Golf Academy, Golf Lessons, Restaurant, Café, Lodge, and 5 more.

Origins

Bernardus was developed in Cromvoirt in North Brabant and opened in 2018. Dutch businessman Robert van der Wallen commissioned American architect Kyle Phillips to create the course. The project converted comparatively flat agricultural ground into a golf landscape intended to evoke heathland characteristics rather than simply preserve the original terrain.

Did You Know?
Bernardus became the venue for both the Solheim Cup and PING Junior Solheim Cup in 2026.

Design Philosophy

Phillips created artificial landforms and combined them with bunkers, water, heath and gorse. The official club description identifies Bernardus specifically as a heathland course.

Development

Within only a few years of opening, Bernardus moved into professional tournament golf. It staged three consecutive editions of the KLM Open from 2021 through 2023 and subsequently secured the 2026 Solheim Cup.

Recognition

Bernardus has been voted the Netherlands' Best Golf Club in the Leading Courses Golfers' Choice awards for 2024, 2025 and 2026.

Today

Bernardus uses a Day Membership system for visiting golfers, providing unlimited golf and use of its practice and leisure facilities for a single daily price. In 2026 the course is hosting the Solheim Cup.
