Blair Atholl Golf & Equestrian Estate contains an 18-hole championship course designed by Gary Player on land closely connected to his family. The course occupies much of Player's former farm, where his family lived for approximately 30 years and where he operated the Gary Player Stud. From the Black professional tees the club publishes a length of 7,527 metres, making it exceptionally long by championship standards.
The Crocodile River passes through the property, while the course is also notable for the scale of its greens and bunkers. Multiple tee positions allow the layout to be played at substantially shorter distances than the Black setup. Blair Atholl has subsequently hosted major professional golf, including the South African Open.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 72, 7,527m. The course was designed by Gary Player. It is a private members' club. On-site facilities include Clubhouse, Practice facilities, Golf shop.
The course was laid out largely over Gary Player's former farm, a property closely associated with his family and his thoroughbred breeding operation.
Player used the unusually large property to create a very long championship course, with the Crocodile River incorporated into the landscape and multiple tees providing alternative playing lengths.
Blair Atholl operates as the golf centrepiece of a private golf and equestrian residential estate.
