Butter Brook Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 semi-private course in Westford, Massachusetts, at the junction of Routes 225 and 27 on the Westford, Carlisle, and Acton town lines. Designed by architect Mark Mungeam, the course opened its front nine in 2004 and its back nine and practice facility in 2007, playing over 210 acres of rolling terrain, pine woodland, and ponds bisected by the Butter Brook stream. Four sets of tees stretch the course from about 4,850 to 6,810 yards.
Facilities include a full-service pro shop, a driving range with grass and synthetic hitting stations, PGA-certified instruction, club rentals, and an on-site dining area. Butter Brook operates as a daily-fee public facility with online tee-time booking.

Butter Brook Golf Club sits on land where the towns of Westford, Carlisle, and Acton meet, at the junction of Routes 225 and 27 in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. The site covers more than 210 acres of pine woodland, ponds, and rolling terrain split by the Butter Brook stream that gives the club its name. Architect Mark Mungeam, working through the Massachusetts firm then known as Cornish, Silva & Mungeam, laid out the 18-hole, par-72 routing on the property's sandy, well-drained soils.
Mungeam's routing follows what the club describes as a classic approach: reading the site's existing rolls, hollows, and stands of mature white pine, then fitting holes to that terrain rather than reshaping the land to fit a plan. The par-4 6th hole illustrates the idea — a hillock behind a pair of left-side fairway bunkers kicks a well-placed tee shot forward and toward the green, rewarding golfers who carry the bunkers with a better angle of approach. Greens throughout the course were built with gentle rolls and slope changes to put a premium on putting, while bunkering is used to define shot angles rather than simply to penalize.
The front nine opened for play on April 9, 2004, with an unusual composition of three par 3s, three par 4s, and three par 5s. Construction of the back nine and an adjoining practice facility followed and was completed in October 2006; the full 18-hole course opened to public play on May 26, 2007 — a three-year, two-phase build rather than a single grand opening.
Butter Brook now operates as a semi-private, daily-fee facility with online tee-time booking, a pro shop staffed by PGA professionals, and a driving range built alongside the back nine. From the Black tees the course plays to 6,810 yards at a 141 slope rating, one of the longer and more demanding public-access tests in the Westford area.
