About Celtic Manor: Roman Road

Roman Road is one of Celtic Manor Resort's three championship courses in Newport and was the first resort course to open, in 1995. Robert Trent Jones Sr designed the par-70 layout, which takes its name from the old Via Julia Roman highway that crossed the property. Published scorecard information places the course at approximately 6,487 yards from its longest markers.

The routing combines more open holes with sections passing through trees and across streams while overlooking the Severn Estuary. Roman Road has staged European Tour and Senior Tour golf and in 2026 became the venue for The G4D Open, organised with The R&A, DP World Tour, Welsh Government and EDGA.

The course is an 18-hole resort golf course. It plays to par 70, 5,932m (6,487 yards). Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr, the course originally opened in 1995. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Golf Academy, Clubhouse, Pro Shop, Restaurant, Bar.
