Credit Valley Golf & Country Club is a private 18-hole parkland course in Mississauga, Ontario, following the contours of the Credit River valley. D. Ross commissioned six holes at his summer residence, The Willows.
Arthur Price later leased the property and engaged Stanley Thompson to revise the original holes and extend the course to nine. It reached 18 holes in 1954, before a major reconfiguration led by Canadian architect Clifford 'Robbie' Robinson after the club purchased additional valley land in 1969. The current Black course measures 6,688 yards and plays to par 70, with a 73.0 course rating and 136 slope.

On-site facilities include Driving Range, Practice Facility, Putting Greens, Short Game Area, Practice Bunkers, Golf Academy, Golf Lessons, Pro Shop, and 14 more.

Arthur Price leased the facilities in 1934 and became the central figure in turning the private recreation ground into a developing golf operation. Price engaged Stanley Thompson to rework the six existing holes and extend the layout to nine. Clifford 'Robbie' Robinson, then working with Thompson, was also involved during this period.
The course continued to expand over the following two decades, reaching 18 holes in 1954. By the late 1950s, Credit Valley had completed its transition into a fully private membership club.
The course members play today is principally associated with Robbie Robinson rather than simply being an enlarged version of the original Thompson-era nine. After Credit Valley purchased additional valley lands in 1969, Robinson returned to plan a substantial reconfiguration. The new routing moved more of the course into the Credit River valley and used the river, mature vegetation and natural elevation changes as central strategic features.
The official club history records Robinson's strong regard for the raw property and identifies his layout as the foundation of the modern course. The present routing continues to follow the natural movement of the valley, with fairways framed by mature trees and several encounters with the river. From the current Black tees it plays 6,688 yards to par 70, including four par threes and two par fives on each nine.
The club's current architectural planning emphasises retaining this relationship with the existing landscape rather than replacing it with an unrelated design.
The club's development occurred in several major stages: six holes in 1930; Stanley Thompson's expansion to nine after Arthur Price took over in 1934; completion of an 18-hole course in 1954; and the acquisition of additional valley lands in 1969 that enabled Robbie Robinson's major reconfiguration. An official historical advertisement records a grand opening for the new Credit Valley Golf Course on September 22, 1973. More recent work has included changes to the first five holes and the 10th, a comprehensive bunker renovation and a major practice-facility redevelopment completed in 2016.
That project created approximately 65,000 square feet of bentgrass teeing ground, eight target greens, a target fairway, two practice bunkers, a short-game area, three putting greens and a dedicated teaching area. Credit Valley has now engaged Whitman, Axland & Cutten, working with Canadian architect Christine Fraser, to prepare a new long-term course master plan. As of August 2026 this remains a planning process rather than a completed redesign.
Credit Valley's tournament record has brought the course attention beyond its membership. Steve Stricker won the PGA Championship of Canada there in 1993, and the championship returned to the club in 2018. Credit Valley has also hosted PGA Women's Championships and a PGA Seniors' Championship.
In 2024 Golf Canada selected the club for the World Junior Girls Golf Championship, a 72-hole international event involving 23 countries and 72 competitors. Golf Canada describes Credit Valley as an 18-hole Robbie Robinson-designed parkland course. The club was ranked No.
80 in SCOREGolf's 2016 ranking of Canada's Top 100 Courses and is also certified through the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program.
Credit Valley remains a fully private golf and country club in Mississauga. Golf access is centred on members and their guests rather than public green-fee play. The current course has five tee options ranging from 6,688 to 5,002 yards, supported by extensive practice and teaching facilities.
Beyond golf, the club provides dining, fitness and wellness services and a year-round indoor swimming pool. The Credit River remains a defining physical feature of the property, with the course crossing it several times. Architectural stewardship is currently being reviewed through a new master-planning process led by Whitman, Axland & Cutten in collaboration with Christine Fraser.
