The routing uses terrain bordering the Victoria Bluff Heritage Preserve and incorporates more elevation change and rolling ground than is typical of much of the surrounding Lowcountry. Palmer's design uses broad fairways but places greater demands on approaches to elevated, bunkered greens, with large white-sand bunkers following the land's natural undulations. The course uses Bermuda grass and includes a full-service practice facility.
