Arnold Daniel Palmer (1929–2016) was first and foremost one of golf’s most iconic players, known as “The King,” whose charisma and skill helped ignite the sport's popularity in the television era. In the early 1970s, leveraging his passion for the game he founded the Palmer Course Design Company in 1972, later renamed the Arnold Palmer Design Company.
