Origins

Dereham Golf Club dates its existence to 1934. The available official material establishes the year but does not identify the original architect or provide a detailed account of the founding group.

Did You Know?
Dereham's nine physical holes are played from enough different tee positions that the club describes 17 different tee positions across an 18-hole round.

Design Philosophy

A defining feature is the use of alternate teeing positions to change the character, length and sometimes par of the same physical hole on the second circuit. The fifth physical hole, for example, is played as a par 4 on the outward nine and from a different position as the par-5 14th.

Today

Dereham remains a member-owned club that also welcomes visitors, member guests, societies and groups. The clubhouse overlooks the first tee and final green and provides lounge, bar and dining facilities.
