Origins

Golf at March began in 1923 at Cavalry Barn Farm, where the club rented three fields totalling about 40 acres from Frank Sole. Contemporary historical material records that cattle continued to graze the property, requiring golfers to cross fences by steps and the greens themselves to be fenced for protection.

Did You Know?
The original course occupied cattle-grazed farmland, with greens fenced off from livestock.

Development

The club ultimately moved to its current Grange Road home. The modern course remains nine holes but uses alternative teeing positions to create a full 18-hole rated round.

Today

March operates as a visitor-friendly nine-hole parkland course with official WHS ratings for multiple men's and women's tee configurations, a clubhouse, professional shop and regular visitor green-fee program.
