About Drumoig Golf Course

Drumoig Golf Course is an 18-hole parkland course in Fife, positioned between St Andrews and Dundee. It was designed by former Ryder Cup player and golf architect Dave Thomas and opened in 1996 as part of the Drumoig hotel and golf development. Detailed modern scorecard data gives the Yellow men's course as 6,956 yards and par 73.

The routing occupies a large rural property and incorporates natural and constructed features including old whinstone quarry areas and lochs, with views toward St Andrews Bay and the River Tay. Several holes use the water and quarry landscape as central strategic features rather than simply as scenery. The golf course is paired with hotel accommodation, restaurant and bar facilities, making it both a local golf venue and a base for visitors playing elsewhere in Fife.

The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 73, 6,361m (6,956 yards). Designed by Dave Thomas, the course originally opened in 1996. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Hotel, Restaurant, Bar, Putting Green, Chipping Area, Golf Cart Hire.

Origins

Drumoig was developed as part of a hotel and golf complex on a large tract of Fife countryside. Dave Thomas designed the course, which opened in 1996.

Design Philosophy

Thomas used the property's varied inland landscape, incorporating lochs and old whinstone quarry features into the routing. The course is designed as a full-length championship-style inland alternative to the coastal links that dominate much of Fife golf.

Today

Drumoig remains an 18-hole visitor-access course attached to the Drumoig Golf Hotel, with accommodation and food-and-beverage facilities on site.
