East Horton Golf Club at Fair Oak near Eastleigh is a multi-course golf facility rather than a single uniform layout. Its principal course is the Greenwood, an 18-hole, par-72 course measuring 6,186 yards. The Parkland is currently listed by the club as a separate nine-hole, par-35 course measuring 2,977 yards, while the Marwell is a separate 938-yard nine-hole short course.
Because these are distinct layouts, their pars and lengths should not be merged into one course record. The Greenwood was redesigned in 2009 by former Ryder Cup player Guy Hunt. East Horton also provides a driving range, practice facilities, putting green, professional shop, instruction, buggy hire, club hire and the Greenside Barn Bar and Restaurant.
The course is a parkland golf course. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Practice Area, Putting Green, Pro Shop, Golf Lessons, Club Hire, Golf Buggy Hire, Restaurant, and 2 more.
The Greenwood routing uses a tributary of the River Hamble and established woodland as core landscape elements. East Horton's own material credits former Ryder Cup player Guy Hunt with redesigning Greenwood in 2009.
East Horton is currently undertaking a multi-phase redevelopment. Plans include a complete redesign of Greenwood's first hole, work to the 18th green complex, drainage and landscape improvements, relocation and redevelopment of practice facilities, and changes to the Parkland layout. The club states that parts of Parkland are being repurposed for a new driving range, explaining why historical 18-hole descriptions of Parkland no longer match the current nine-hole offering.
The current operation comprises three distinct golf offerings: the 18-hole, par-72 Greenwood at 6,186 yards; the nine-hole, par-35 Parkland at 2,977 yards; and the nine-hole, 938-yard Marwell short course. Visitors can book all three, with separate fee schedules. The site also includes practice, instruction, retail, dining and event facilities.
