Enniscorthy Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland course at Knockmarshal in County Wexford. The club traces its recorded history to 1906-07 and was accepted for Golfing Union of Ireland affiliation in 1908, but the current 18-hole course is much newer: the completed 18-hole layout was first played on 28 May 1989. The men's course is par 72 and measures 6,092 metres from the Blue tees, with White and Yellow options at 5,921 and 5,775 metres.
The Red women's course measures 5,099 metres and plays to par 74. The course developed through work by several architects and builders over time, including W. C.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 72, 6,092m. Designed by Eddie Hackett and W. C. Pickman, the course originally opened in 1989. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving range, Putting green, Short game practice area, Pro shop, Clubhouse, Bar, Restaurant.
The club's own centenary research acknowledges uncertainty around its precise beginning. A club at Enniscorthy appears in the Golfing Annual for 1906-07, and the Golfing Union of Ireland accepted its affiliation application in January 1908. In 1913, after land near the town was secured, W.
C. Pickman was asked to prepare a new layout.
The club purchased its land in 1970 and embarked on course improvements. In 1982 a subcommittee considered additional land and Eddie Hackett advised that it could support seven new holes, with another two created on the existing course. Construction proceeded under Jim Whitney and later Ted Morrissey, and the complete 18 holes were first played on 28 May 1989.
Hackett and Pat Ruddy subsequently oversaw changes during the 1990s. Further land was acquired in the 2000s, allowing Jeff Howes to plan two new holes completed during the centenary period.
The resulting course is a mature 18-hole parkland layout with four principal tee options. The club accepts visitors and societies and operates practice facilities, a professional shop and clubhouse food and beverage facilities.
