French Creek Golf Club is a private 18-hole golf club in Elverson, Pennsylvania, founded around a Gil Hanse-designed course. A local development partnership brought Hanse onto the project in 1999 after his work at nearby Stonewall. The first nine holes opened in 2003, and the Pennsylvania Golf Association currently lists a 6,725-yard, par-71 Championship course rated 73.2 with a slope of 138.
Hanse's routing was built across rolling Chester County ground with woodland, streams and existing natural features retained as integral parts of the design. The clubhouse followed in 2004 in a style intended to reflect historic Chester County farm architecture. French Creek is a private membership club rather than a public daily-fee course, so no public green fees are published.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 71, 6,725 yards, course rating 73.2 and slope rating 138. Designed by Gil Hanse, the course originally opened in 2003. It is a private members' club. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Practice Facilities, Golf Shop, Locker Rooms, Clubhouse, Event Facilities.
A partnership of local Elverson-area businessmen formed around the project in the late 1990s and hired Gil Hanse in 1999. Hanse had recently completed nearby Stonewall Golf Club and was still early in the career that later brought him major international commissions.
The course was developed with limited earthmoving and an emphasis on retaining the site's existing streams, woodland, elevation and natural golf hazards. The routing uses those features rather than imposing a heavily manufactured landscape.
The first nine opened in 2003. Construction of the club's large clubhouse proceeded alongside completion of the golf operation, with the clubhouse opening in 2004.
Golf Digest ranks French Creek among Pennsylvania's leading courses, listing it No. 37 in the state for 2025-26.
French Creek remains a private membership club centred on golf, practice, dining and member events.
