Golf El Kantaoui at Port El Kantaoui near Sousse is a 36-hole golf facility designed by American architect Ronald Fream. It comprises two separate 18-hole championship layouts: the Sea Course and the Panorama Course. They should be treated as distinct courses for scorecard and length data rather than combined into a single artificial routing.
Published modern descriptions give the Sea Course as approximately 6,253 metres and the Panorama Course as approximately 6,045 metres, with both described as par 72, although older sources list the Sea Course as par 73. The golf development dates to around 1979-1980 and covers roughly 130 hectares between the Mediterranean coast and the higher ground around the Port El Kantaoui resort. Fream's routing incorporated existing vegetation and terrain along with artificial lakes.
The course is a 36-hole parkland golf course. Designed by Ronald Fream, the course originally opened in 1980. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving range, Putting green, Approach green, Practice bunker, Pro shop, Clubhouse, Restaurant, Locker rooms, and 3 more.
Golf formed part of the broader development of the Port El Kantaoui resort on Tunisia's Sousse coast. American architect Ronald Fream designed two championship layouts across approximately 130 hectares, with sources dating the project to 1979-1980.
Fream used the transition from the Mediterranean shoreline toward the inland hills to give the two courses different identities. The Sea Course runs through lower terrain toward the coast, while the Panorama Course uses the higher ground. Existing olive trees, palms, eucalyptus and other vegetation were retained within a landscape supplemented by artificial lakes.
The property matured as a 36-hole resort golf complex with the Sea and Panorama courses supported by a clubhouse, pro shop and practice facilities. Older documentation records a clubhouse renovation in 2007.
Golf El Kantaoui has been used for international competition and has attracted professional players including established European Tour figures. Its two-course scale has made it one of the larger golf facilities in Tunisia.
Golf El Kantaoui continues to be presented as a 36-hole facility consisting of the Sea and Panorama courses. For directory purposes, the two layouts should be split into separate records before importing course-specific par, length, rating or scorecard data.
