Golf Course Architect

Ronald Warren Fream (born 1942) is an American golf‑course architect who trained under Robert Trent Jones, Robert F. Lawrence, and Robert Muir Graves, then founded the Golfplan (Ronald Fream Design Group) in 1972.

Over his career he directed design, planning, construction supervision, and turfgrass management for more than 100 courses globally, particularly in resort and emerging markets. His work includes the GEO‑certified Terme di Saturnia Spa & Golf in Italy and the Kelab Darul Ehsan course in Malaysia, among many others across Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas.

Fream stepped back in later years, passing operational leadership of Golfplan to partners David Dale and Kevin Ramsey.
