Grandview Golf Course is a public, city-owned 18-hole course in Anderson, Indiana, operated by the Anderson Parks Department. The par-70 layout plays 5,554 yards from the White tees and 4,780 yards from the Red tees, with a course rating of 65.2 and slope of 105 from the White tees. The routing includes two par 4s over 400 yards, two back-nine par 5s, and four par 3s, including the par-3 3rd hole — the course's signature hole at roughly 230 yards, played over water to a small, undulating green. Greens throughout the course are compact, and the layout moves across rolling terrain with mature trees.
The course dates to the early 1920s and is among the older municipal courses still operating in Indiana. It is the only course in Madison County to have hosted the Indiana State Open (1945) and has been repeatedly named the top course in Madison County by the local Herald Bulletin newspaper.

Anderson's civic leaders built Grandview during Indiana's first wave of municipal golf development in the early 1920s, when cities across the state were adding public courses to give residents an affordable alternative to the private country clubs that had dominated the sport since the 1890s. Golf-course directories and course databases credit the design to L.O. Parker and Charlie Gross and list 1923 as the opening year, though the City of Anderson's own materials on the course don't go into detail about its construction, cost, or the reasoning behind the site on the rolling ground north of downtown.
The routing works with the property's natural rolling terrain rather than against it, and greens throughout the course are notably small and often well-guarded, putting a premium on approach-shot accuracy over length. The par-3 3rd hole, roughly 230 yards across water to a compact, undulating green, is the course's most talked-about test and the one the club itself singles out as Grandview's signature hole. The back nine carries the course's two par 5s and its longest par 4s, giving the closing stretch more length than the front.
Grandview has remained under City of Anderson ownership throughout its history and is run today by the city's Parks and Recreation department, with a golf professional overseeing day-to-day operations. No major redesign or expansion of the course has been publicly documented — the layout is still the same 18-hole, par-70 routing at roughly 5,554 yards from the back tees. The clubhouse restaurant on site, the 1925 Pubhouse, references an era close to the course's founding, though it opened well after Grandview itself did.
Grandview's clearest mark on Indiana golf history came in 1945, when it hosted the Indiana State Open — a distinction still unmatched by any other course in Madison County. Locally, the course has also been repeatedly named the top golf course in Madison County by the area's newspaper, the Herald Bulletin, a recognition the club highlights on its own website. Combined with its age, that State Open pedigree is central to how Grandview is regarded within the state's municipal golf scene.
Grandview operates as a public, tee-time-based course open daily, with a pro shop carrying major equipment and apparel brands, cart and club rentals, and lesson programs staffed by the resident professional. A picnic pavilion on site supports group outings, and the adjoining 1925 Pubhouse restaurant serves golfers after their round. More than a century after opening, it remains one of the state's longer-running municipal layouts still in daily public play.
